This site was developed to offer a resource that will make you familiar with the operations of our office and add an additional portal for public access to public records. We hope that you find this tool useful and encourage you to check back with us as we add more features in the future.

Florida has a very broad public records law.  Most written communications to or from governmental officials are public records available to the public and media upon request.  Your e-mail and fax communications may therefore be subject to public disclosure.  Under Florida law, e-mail addresses are public records.   If you do not want your e-mail address released in response to a public records request, do not send electronic mail to the Clerk’s Office. Instead contact our office by phone or in writing.

COVID-19 – Corona Virus Announcement
While the risk of contracting COVID-19 is low in Wakulla County, the Clerk’s Office continues to monitor and take precautionary steps to prevent the spread of this virus. This is a quickly changing situation and we remain committed to the health and wellness of our employees and customers. We are currently operating with normal business hours and we continue to collaborate with our state and local partners and you may notice some temporary changes in the courthouse as to how we conduct business.

We are urging all customers to do business “ON-LINE not IN LINE”. Our website provides a number of ON-LINE options for you from the safety of your home. We encourage you to “CALL US before you VISIT US”. From your home or business, you can:

  • Conduct court, official record and county record searches
  • File court documents electronically via the “E-Portal”
  • Complete some court documents via “Turbo court”
  • File official records electronically
  • Obtain electronically certified official record documents
  • Pay traffic, court payments and others online or via telephone

Currently the following activities have been changed or been suspended:

The Florida Supreme Court has temporarily suspended all jury trials and jury selection proceedings. If you have received a jury summons for this time frame you are excused from appearing. The Clerk’s Office will continue to issue jury summons for possible future proceedings so as to minimize any impact on court proceedings. If you receive a jury summons for any proceedings please call the phone number on the summons the day before you are scheduled to appear to determine if you are still needed.

Parties to a case should contact their attorney to determine if your court hearing or proceeding has been rescheduled. Court Administration is working on holding some non-jury proceedings via telephonic conferencing and your attorney will have the phone number and access code for these if you are required to be present via electronic means.

For filing domestic/sexual violence and other similar restraining order injunctions during weekends and holidays, you must seek assistance in person at the Leon County Clerk of Court, located on 301 S. Monroe Street, at 8:30 a.m., where a deputy clerk and judge will be present.

If you are representing yourself in court, please call our office at 850-926-0300 for directions or information pertaining to your specific case.

For information regarding obtaining a Marriage License please call our office at (850) 926-0322 or (850) 926-0326.

All foreclosure sales have been suspended and will be rescheduled.

Passport applications are not being accepted until further notice. The U.S. Department of State has notified us that they have closed their passport acceptance facility. You may schedule an appointment with the U.S. Post Office on South Adams Street in Tallahassee but you must schedule the appointment on-line.

If you can not E-Record an official record, please call our office to schedule a drop off of your documents.

Thank you for your patience during these ever-changing and difficult times.
