Clerk Legal Advice Prohibited

Deputy Clerks at the Wakulla County Clerk of Court & Comptroller's office work hard to assist our residents as best we can but we cannot provide legal advice, according to Florida Statute 28.215. We cannot interpret or complete court documents; prepare deeds, mortgages, or other official documents; or perform a title search. Only attorneys licensed to practice law in Florida can provide legal advice. More importantly, even if our office hired an attorney who could practice law in Florida, we have not been hired as YOUR attorney and we are a neutral party providing assistance equally to both the plaintiff and defendant or the grantor and grantee. #FLClerks
